Five-Factor Score (FFS, 2011 revised)

Estimates 5-year mortality in systemic necrotizing vasculitides (EGPA, PAN, MPA, GPA), relevant to EGPA prognosis in allergy/immunology.

Evidence tier: Validated instrument.

Formula / logic

FFS (2011) = Age >65 (1) + Cardiac insufficiency (1) + Renal insufficiency, creatinine ≥150 µmol/L (1) + GI involvement (1) + ENT manifestations ABSENT (1, EGPA/GPA only). 5-year mortality: FFS 0 → 9%; FFS 1 → 21%; FFS ≥2 → 40%.

Interpretation

The revised FFS applies across PAN, MPA, EGPA, and GPA. In EGPA and GPA, ENT involvement is protective, so its ABSENCE adds a point.
